How the season plays out
- League phase (matches 1-8). Opponent strength ramps from mid-table European sides up to elite clubs. Wins are worth three points, draws one. You need 11 points to reach the top 24 and continue.
- Knockout playoff, R16, QF, SF (matches 9-16). Two legs each, decided on aggregate. Level ties go to a penalty shootout weighted by your squad's mentality rating.
- The final (match 17). One match, no second chance, against the strongest opponent in the game.

- How is each match simulated?
- Your XI produces attack, midfield, defence and mentality ratings. Those are compared against a rising opponent strength curve to derive scoring rates, and goals are drawn from a Poisson distribution. Knockout rounds add a clutch modifier based on mentality, and level aggregates go to a mentality-weighted penalty shootout.
- What does a 17-0 mean?
- Seventeen wins from seventeen matches plus the trophy. Even a top-rated XI achieves it only about 1-2% of the time.
